China approves Dow's herbicide Florasulam•MCPA
Date:06-26-2013
Dow AgroScience has received temporary Chinese approval for its herbicide Florasulam•MCPA (0.39% Florasulam+42.61% MCPA) SE for one year.
The Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) approved the herbicide for use in broadleaf weeds control in wheat fields.
The product is based on Florasulam, which provides a systemic and broad spectrum control for most broadleaf weeds in wheat fields, including hard-to-control cleavers (Rubiaceae) and Lithospermumarvense (Boraginaceae).
Dow AgroScience had registered several compounds based on Florasulam in China earlier, including Florasulam•2,4-D-ethylhexyl Ester and Florasulam•Flumetsulam.
Florasulam is formulated with MCPA to produce a broad spectrum broadleaf herbicide, with excellent cereal selectivity, a short rain fast period and no plant back or export residue concerns.
