The Chinese national standards for the insecticide, chlorpyrifos (active ingredient and emulsifiable concentrate formulation) have been awarded a “2008 China contribution to innovation in standards award”, reports Chinese agrochemical company Zhejiang Xin’an Chemical. Contribution to innovation in standards awards are given for innovative technologies that have been adopted by international organisations or for contributing to China’s economic and social development. The national awards are jointly issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision and the national standardisation committee. The chlorpyrifos standards were drawn up in 2004 by Zhejiang Xin’an Chemical, Shenyang Chemical Industry Research Institute, Shandong Huayang Technology, and Dalian Kaifei Chemical.
