SGS opens seed testing lab in Sri Lanka

The world leading Contract Research Organizations (CROs) company SGS announces the opening of its first seed testing laboratory in Dambulla. This new laboratory will be the first independent seed testing laboratory in Sri Lanka.
The opening ceremony for the new laboratory was hosted by Mr. N.Sriram, Country Manager for SGS Sri Lanka, with Mr. J.Opatha, mayor of Dambulla Municipal Council, Mr. L. Gurunada, Business Manager of SGS agricultural Services and others SGS representatives in attendance.
The laboratory will perform the following tests using ISTA standards:
• Seed Germination
• Physical / Analytical Purity
• Inert Matter
• Weed Seeds
• Damaged Seeds
• Other Crop Seeds
• Seed Viability test (Tz)
• Moisture
• Accelerated Aging Test (seed vigor)
