Belgian crop protection company Belchim's Italian subsidiary, Belchim Crop Protection Italia (Padova), has gained approval for
Ishihara sangyo Kaisha's (ISK) insecticide, Teppeki (
flonicamid). It is for the control of whiteflies on tomatoes and cucurbits and aphids on peaches, tomatoes, melons and courgettes. The active ingredient was first approved in the US in 2003 and has gained registrations in Europe as Teppeki since 2004. Italian approval is provisional, pending the ai's inclusion in Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive. Belchim has distribution rights for the ai in France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands.
