The US EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) aims to make 27 re-registration eligibility decisions (REDs) for non-food-use pesticides in fiscal 2008. That should complete the re-registration process for active ingredients by the October 3rd deadline of the 2003 Pesticide Registration Improvement Act, which was reauthorised last year. The last REDs for food-use pesticides were completed in fiscal 2007. However, product re-registrations are not expected to be finished until 2014. The OPP aims to complete 1,000 product re-registration actions during fiscal 2008.
