US raises pesticide registration fees
Date:08-14-2008
The US EPA has raised the level of pesticide registration service fees by 5% for all fee categories with effect from October 1st 2008. The cost of processing an application for a new food-use active ingredient rises from $516,300 to $542,115 under the new fee schedule. The time for processing such an application remains 24 months. All processing times for conventional pesticides remain unchanged from those for fiscal 2008. The 5% fee increase was set as part of last year’s reauthorisation of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act, which ensures that service fees remain in place until 2012.
