Brazil OKs methyl bromide for emergency use
Date:11-20-2007
Brazil has approved the fumigant, methyl bromide, for emergency use on cotton that is destined for export against boll weevils (Anthonomous grandis). The emergency use will run until October 27th 2008. Flower and ornamental growers were to substitute the ozone-depleting fumigant earlier this year for solar and steam-powered equipment developed in the country.
