One more year of molinate use in US
Date:08-04-2008
The sale and distribution of the rice herbicide, molinate, by companies other than the registrants can continue for another year, the US EPA confirms. Syngenta and Helm Agro proposed a five-year phase-out of the herbicide in 2003. The EPA subsequently established a registration cancellation date of June 30th 2008, with use being allowed until August 31st 2009. The EPA has amended the cancellation order to confirm that distributors and retailers can sell molinate-based products until July 1st 2009.
