UK PSD changes re-registration procedures
Date:07-23-2008
The UK Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD) has made changes to its re-registration procedures that are relevant to all UK registrants, including holders of approvals for parallel imported products and off-label approval holders. Until now, following a decision to include an active ingredient in Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414), the PSD has been sending “post-inclusion” letters to all approval holders for all products containing the included ai. These letters have informed approval holders of the deadlines and requirements that they are obliged to meet if they wish to maintain their existing product approvals.
The PSD will now send an e-mail to all approval holders and interested parties informing them of the inclusion decision. The e-mail will contain a link to a new post-inclusion deadline and re-registration page on the PSD website, which will provide the relevant information for approval holders that, until now, has been sent in the “post-inclusion” letter. The page will contain information that will tell approval holders of their obligations and set out the deadlines that they must meet to maintain their existing product approvals following Annex I inclusion. The content of the e-mail will also be published as a regulatory update on the PSD website.
