The latest campaign to combat counterfeit agrochemicals in China has prevented economic losses to farmers of Yuan 580 million ($84.7 million) in the first half of this year, according to the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture. The Ministry inspected 505,000 enterprises and confiscated nearly 24,000 tonnes of agricultural products identified as being substandard, counterfeit or containing unapproved additives. Studies in China last year indicated that in some areas 17% or more of pesticides sold were counterfeit. The government is actively engaged in educating farmers in the identification of counterfeit products. Do you have some interests on this news or have some comments?
