Kanto Denka to up capacities for fluorochemical gases
Date:11-01-2011
Kanto Denka Kogyo plans to raise the output capacities at its Shibukawa plant in Gunma Prefecture for nitrogen trifluoride gas to 3,500 t/y, from the current 3,000 t/y, by February 2012 and for carbon tetrafluoride gas by 10% to 1,100 t/y by June 2012.
Demand for fluorochemical gases is rising for applications such as the cleaning of semiconductors, liquid-crystal-display panels and solar cells, whose market is expected to grow. The company is taking advantage of a wide range of derivatives based on its expertise in fluorochemicals and chlorinated compounds to increase its presence in various fields including semiconductors, LCDs, solar cells, IT devices, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. It is already the world’s leading producer of nitrogen trifluoride.
