Brazil agchem sales up 15 %

The Brazilian agrochemical market continues to impress. It rose by 15% in the first four months of 2008 compared with the first four months of last year to R$2,600 million ($1,585 million. It compiled the figures following a meeting at the CTIA last month. Farmers brought forward purchases in anticipation of higher prices due to rising costs of oil, it says. Sales were up by over a third to $5,310 million in 2007 compared with the previous year.
