Australian court to rule on pesticide recall
Date:06-20-2008
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has applied to the Federal Court to rule on the legality of the registrations of 52 agrochemical products supplied by Imtrade Australia. The APVMA ordered a recall of the products because Imtrade supplied false information in its registration applications. The recall was put on hold by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. The APVMA hopes that a Federal Court hearing on July 23rd will “provide the industry with appropriate regulatory certainty”, says the Authority’s regulatory strategy and compliance programme manager, Neville Matthew.
