Caltec, a Brazilian company specializing in soil correction fertilizers, announced the new Oxiflux during Coplacampo 2025, an event attended by AgroPages. In addition to the Calcium (CaO) and Magnesium (MgO) oxides enriched with Sulfur (S) already present in other formulations in the line, the new formulation stands out for the addition of Zinc (Zn) and Boron (B).
According to the manufacturer, these two nutrients play fundamental roles in plant growth and metabolism. Boron is essential for cell structure and function, contributing to the strengthening of cell walls and playing a crucial role in the development of flowers and fruits. Zinc, meanwhile, acts in protein synthesis and energy production, as well as being an enzymatic cofactor involved in various biochemical processes, such as hormonal regulation and plant metabolism.
Refined calcium and magnesium soil correction fertilizers have gained prominence in the agricultural market due to their high efficiency in making essential nutrients available, ensuring uniform distribution and optimized absorption, factors that boost crop development and increase productivity. The new Oxiflux, Caltec claims, expands the options available to farmers and offers a differentiated solution for nutrition and soil correction.
At Caltec's booth at the 11th edition of Coplacampo, visitors could see the new Oxiflux up close, with physical samples, printed materials, and explanatory videos about its benefits. Additionally, the rest of the product line was on display. Caltec's soil correction fertilizers were applied in the preparation of the event's demonstration fields, allowing visitors to observe the results in the field firsthand.
"The expansion of the Oxiflux line reinforces our commitment to offering innovative and efficient solutions for farmers. The new product adds value to the portfolio by providing essential micronutrients, ensuring more complete nutrition. Its balanced formulation allows application in all crops, being especially beneficial for sugarcane, which requires efficient nutrient replacement to maintain high productivity in subsequent cuttings," highlights Eulino Silveira, Caltec's Commercial Manager.
For ratoon cane, the new Oxiflux with Zn and B provides "more efficient nutrition, aiding in various aspects of plant development. The addition of these micronutrients stimulates vigorous sprouting and greater tillering, ensuring quick recovery of stalks after cutting," Caltec states.
Furthermore, Boron contributes to the structural strengthening of the plant, reducing the incidence of lodging, while Zinc favors the synthesis of antioxidant enzymes, helping with resistance to stress and climatic adversities. The combination of nutrients also improves water utilization, promoting more efficient water absorption and retention, favoring root development and maximizing crop productivity.
"With balanced and complete nutrition, farmers ensure greater profitability, optimizing fertilizer use and increasing return on investment," says Eulino Silveira, highlighting that, in addition to these nutrients, another differential is in its composition with refined oxides, which ensure excellent field applicability, regardless of the equipment used, as well as reducing drift losses and facilitating straw penetration.
Caltec has structured its portfolio into three main product lines: Oxiflux, focused on low-drift refined oxides that easily penetrate straw and feature Oxipro technology for high reactivity and better nutrient availability, plus Mg+ technology, which guarantees magnesium contents 100% assimilable by the plant; Agrolitá, developed for regions that demand greater versatility in input application, with exclusive granulometry that allows manual or mechanized application with safety, even in places with strong wind incidence; and Fertimacro, a complete granulated soil correction fertilizer with NPK, containing oxides that, even after granulation, remain reactive in the soil, optimizing nutrient availability.
Specializing in the production of soil correction fertilizers, the company develops advanced technologies for fertilization and soil correction, combining acidity control with the replacement and supply of essential nutrients in a single product. This concept improves productivity, increases operational efficiency, and promotes soil care, meeting the specific needs of each crop.
