Kynetec Brazil has announced to AgroPages the launch of its FarmTrak Distribution tool, designed to understand agricultural input market movements from the producer's perspective.
According to the market intelligence company, this survey now constitutes an essential part of sector planning and helps answer various strategic questions.
Among the questions that the FarmTrak Distribution tool aims to answer are:
What are the main markets in my region of operation or interest?
How well-adjusted is my supply to market demand?
Who are the best partners, considering the product profiles demanded by my customers?
Which municipalities have the most significant potential for my operational focus?
Who are the leading players in my region of operation or expansion?
According to Kynetec Brazil, FarmTrak Distribution is based on information gathered from more than 20,000 farmers. "This is a tailored solution to support our distributor partners. The analyses include detailed views of the sector as a whole and by region," states the market intelligence company.
Western Paraná
As an example, Kynetec Brasil points out data from the western region of Paraná, where R$5.9 billion, including pesticides, seeds, and fertilizers, was spent in the 2023-24 harvest. According to the most recent estimate by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Brazilian state of Paraná will have the highest growth in agricultural production among states in the southern and southeastern regions of Brazil in 2025.
According to IBGE, soybeans, the main item on the state's agricultural agenda, are expected to see a 20% increase in production, jumping from 18.6 million tons in 2024 to 22.4 million in 2025. Equally relevant, the supply of corn is expected to increase from 15.1 million to 18.2 million tons, which will correspond, if the estimate is confirmed, to a growth of 20.6%, above the national increase of 4% or that of Mato Grosso. This leading national producer is expected to reduce production.
The Paraná production agenda includes wheat (3 million tons, a 26.9% increase in production), beans (1 million tons, a 24% increase), barley (287 thousand tons), oats (167 thousand tons), and rice (141 thousand tons).
According to the survey carried out by the FarmTrak Distribution tool, fertilizers are the main segment of inputs distributed in Paraná, totaling R$2.6 billion (44%), followed by pesticides, R$1.8 billion (30%), and seeds, R$1.5 billion (26%). Regarding crops from the same region, FarmTrak Distribution highlights soybeans and second-crop corn, which together generated more than R$5.7 billion.
As for the most important municipalities in the distribution sector in that area, Assis Chateaubriand, Cascavel, and Toledo stand out, accounting for 1/4 of the area planted for both crops in the 2023-24 cycle. The western region of Paraná is characterized by being home to small and medium-sized properties, with farmers of up to 500 hectares corresponding to more than 85% of the cultivated area. In addition, they have a strong presence in the distribution system.
The study shows that cooperatives contribute 56% of the movement and resellers 41%. The survey carried out by the FarmTrak Distribution tool concludes that the western region of Paraná currently has more than 150 points of sale for agricultural inputs.
