Strategic partnership reached between DBN Biotech and Fuhua Chemical, aiming to promote biological breeding

A few days ago, DBN Biotech and Fuhua Chemical announced establishment of strategic partnership aiming at promotion of biological breeding, particularly in respect of innovative development and application of herbicide-tolerant biological breeding. 

DBN Biotech is a leading biotechnology research and development enterprise in China, focusing on development of insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant crop varieties, such as corn and soybean. The company has established its complete biological breeding research and development system, a number of products have been granted GMO biosafety certificates, which are the earliest commercialized products in China. Fuhua Chemical is a global glyphosate industry leader, with an annual production capacity of 153,000 tons, ranking among the top three in the world. Fuhua Chemical not only owns plentiful registrations of glyphosate products, but is also cooperating with world-renowned agrochemical enterprises in constant promotion of product research and upgrade.

The collaboration between the two sides will focus on herbicide-tolerant biological breeding. Fuhua Chemical will provide high-quality herbicides such as glyphosate to support DBN Biotech’s research, promotion and application of biological breeding-based crops. The two parties will jointly conduct field trial and demonstration activities to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of application of herbicides to biological breeding-based crops, which will provide a scientific basis for agricultural production. Moreover, the two parties will collaborate in marketing and brand promotion to enhance the market awareness and competitiveness of the herbicide products for application to biological breeding.

Through the cooperation, both parties will share resources to complement each other, so as to promote the prosperous development of the herbicide market targeting at  biological breeding. The integration of the biological breeding technology of DBN Biotech with the herbicide product advantage of Fuhua Chemical is of great benefit to improvement of the efficiency of agricultural production, reduction of pesticide use, improvement of agricultural product quality, safeguarding of supply of grain and oils.

Going ahead, DBN Biotech and Fuhua Chemical will deepen cooperation and expand the fields of cooperation; will actively promote innovation and application of the herbicidal technology for application to biological breeding; and will endeavor to make contributions to the sustainable agricultural development and farmer’s increase of yield and income.
