Gadot Agro launches SPINOZZITM, another addition to its family of crop optimization solutions.
This new product’s active ingredient is Spinosad, a natural insecticide derived from soil bacteria, with a broad spectrum of action covering Lepidoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Thysanoptera, Thrips and some Coleoptera.
SPINOZZITM comes in an SC formulation. It can be applied very close to harvest to maintain crop quality and appearance. It is safe for consumers, farmers and the environment, which makes it ideal as part of Integrated Pest Management programs. Spinosad is certified for organic agriculture in many parts of the world.

In the words of Gadot Agro’s VP Agronomy, Dr. Daphna Blachinsky: ″In beans, cabbage and other sensitive Brassicaceae crops, SPINOZZITM has proven particularly effective at low application volumes, keeping residue levels well within limits of safety for human consumption, allowing for a short waiting period before harvest.″
In more robust crops, such as apples, pears, and grapes, SPINOZZITM combats the codling moth and other larval pests by creating a protective barrier on plant surfaces. Efficacy levels are maintained even in challenging outdoor conditions.
For instance, crops such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants benefit from SPINOZZITM’s ability to control the western flower thrips effectively. Its potency means only a minimal amount is needed, depending on the crop type and level of infestation.
For larger fruit crops like mango and date palm, SPINOZZITM controls pests such as thrips and date moths, with specific intervals between applications to reduce reinfestation. This consistent pest management approach protects the crop throughout its growth cycle, so farmers can achieve healthy yields.
SPINOZZITM works by targeting the insect’s nervous system through a neurotoxic mode of action. Once ingested, it impacts specific receptors, leading to rapid paralysis and the insect’s death. This mechanism ensures minimal impact on beneficial insects. Growers can now protect their crops without affecting the delicate ecological balance.
