SEEDCORP I HO has been gaining market share in Brazil's southern region each year as a reference for soybean genetics and seeds.
The company, which sold 70,000 bags in the region in 2018, is expected to reach 1.1 million bags sold in the 2024-2025 season, which was sown since September 2024.
"We had less than 1% market share six years ago, and this season we should reach 7% in the region," said a jubilant Eduardo Brandalize, Market Development and Southern Licensing Manager at SEEDCORP I HO.
Operating through its own brand or licensing its genetics, in a unique market model that includes research, production, market development, sales, and logistics, the company believes its success in the region stems from the competitive cultivars it has been offering to producers, such as HO Pirapó, the best-selling variety in RS, SC, and PR – and even Southern MS – due to its performance, commercial solidity, operational efficiency, and commercial robustness.
With the launch of the Intacta 2 Xtend® platform in the last 2 years, there is a prospect of continuing growth and consolidating as one of the largest genetics suppliers in southern Brazil. "We have eight licensees and 15 commercial representatives to serve just the South," Brandalize commented.
The manager explained that when looking for a cultivar, farmers in the region have been seeking productivity, behavior regarding diseases such as Cercospora and Phytophthora, and adaptability, which is fundamental in times of climate change.
"We should soon be putting on the market the first cultivars produced at our station in Sertanópolis, Paraná, which will guarantee us even more competitiveness in the region," he announced.
