Bayer Crop Science launches to Chinese market its new-generation calcium fertilizer

On January 15, 2025, Hangzhou, China, Bayer Crop Science held a product launch event for its crop health product Wojiarun^®, a new-generation water-soluble secondary fertilizer, which is also a new-generation calcium fertilizer developed by Bayer, launched with upgraded brand, formula and purity. The launch of the product is a demonstration of Bayer’s strong commitment to fertilizer research and manufacture in China.

With the rapid development of the agricultural modernization, farmer’s needs are evolving, which is not fully satisfied by conventional crop protection products, thus requiring a strong supplementation by crop health products. Hence, China’s RMB10-billion-value crop health market comes into existence, which provides Bayer with great opportunities of serving Chinese farmers.

Bayer Crop Science has a worldwide century-old brand accumulation, with great R&D superiorities, which stand for fine workmanship and quality standard. Bayer’s crop health brand Delai^® is scheduled for market release this year, covering three major product fields - nutritional fertilizer, biostimulant and microbial agent, among which Wojiarun^® is an important product in the field of nutritional fertilizer.

As a new-generation water-soluble secondary element fertilizer, the launch of Wojiarun^® is based upon Bayer’s massive R&D investment in the past 10 years and on account of Bater’s insight into farmer’s actual needs. From the formula perspective, Wojiarun^® is a significant upgrade over Bayer’s first-generation calcium fertilizer. Calcium in Wojiarun^® is upgraded from the original ionic state to complexed and chelated state, which is easy to use, with better fluidity without crystallization at low temperature; after dilution, it appears supernatant, which is more stable, with better mixability, being applicable to more scenarios. In terms of content, as a high-content calcium fertilizer, the calcium content of Wojiarun^®, on top of high calcium content fertilizers, is further increased up to 176 g/L, and nitrogen content is increased up to 170 g/L, while containing ammonium nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen. Furthermore, Wojiarun^® contains 3 g/L - 6 g/L combinations of trace elements including copper, iron, manganese, zinc and boron, which is also a significant increase over Bayer’s first-generation calcium fertilizer.
