Syngenta Crop Protection has announced the completion of the acquisition of Produtécnica, a distributor of agricultural inputs operating in the states of Maranhão, Piauí and Tocantins, through its SYNAP Commercial Platform, following approval by CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense).
This move allows farmers in this critical agricultural frontier to have expanded access to Syngenta's technologies and services.
According to André Savino, President of Syngenta Crop Protection in Brazil, ″Produtécnica has been distributing Syngenta products at MAPITO since 2005 and has a great relationship with local producers, something we value greatly at Syngenta.″
″The approval of this acquisition adds a highly relevant brand to SYNAP, which, together with the other brands that make up our Commercial Platform, keeps us aligned to ensure that Brazilian farmers have access to our innovations, implemented in Syngenta's robust portfolio of products and services,″ said Ricardo Perez, General Director of SYNAP.
″Produtécnica is a very important component of our distribution ecosystem, which has distributor partners and cooperatives working in coordination with SYNAP’s anchors to promote the success of Brazilian farmers. This acquisition will also bring greater gains in planning and logistics,″ Savino added.
