BASF's tritosulfuron close to full EU approval
Date:06-05-2008
BASF's new small-grain cereal and maize herbicide, tritosulfuron, has been cleared by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health in one of the last stages of the EU registration process. Once confirmed by the European Commission, the active ingredient will be added to Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414). Tritosulfuron already holds provisional approvals in several EU member states, where it is available in combination products with dicamba. The three-year provisional approvals were extended in 2007 to allow extra time to complete the EU evaluation.
