Making its debut in the Argentine agrochemical market, the newly launched Agroterrum stated to AgroPages during the 2nd Congress of Agricultural Distributors (CDA Argentina 2024) that it is targeting China and India to grow in its first year of operations.
Agronomist Pablo Torasso, general manager of Agroterrum, pointed out that "both the Chinese and Indian markets are very focused on Argentina."
He said these countries "are aware of the potential that Argentines possess, regardless of economic variables."
"This year, we decided to bring 65% of the formulated products directly from China for a reason, not only for the quality of the formulations but also for the packaging. It is extremely high quality, which we will seek this year," Torasso stated.
The executive of Agroterrum pointed out that "there is a deficiency in the local Argentine market regarding comprehensive service in agriculture."
"That is why at Agroterrum, we want to provide this comprehensive service. That complete service of agility, supply, good quality, and very good packaging," he observed.
Regarding the event, Torasso emphasized that "it is essential to be at the CDA" because it is a gathering of "distributors at a national level."
"It is a good time to exchange data, experiences, and various things. It is tough to start a business in Argentina; we all know that," he explained.
On the other hand, the manager assured that "the Argentine market is the future because it has potential that other markets do not have - and we know it well."
"It took us six months to enter the market, and fortunately, we did very well in the first six months," he explained.
"We focus on the objectives we want to pursue because this market is potentially very good for development," concluded the leader of the newly created Argentine company.
