Seipasa, a Spanish company specialising in the development, formulation and production of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and nutritional treatments for agriculture, has presented its sustainability report for the last financial year.
The presentation of this document was accompanied by the inauguration of a new section on the company’s website to showcase the company’s commitment to people, the environment and the community of which Seipasa forms part. This new section aims to showcase how the company and its policies are aligned with the European lines of action and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by Europe.
Seipasa has also announced the creation of an internal sustainability committee to promote new initiatives and highlight sustainability as an important milestone within the company. The body, comprising representatives from the Quality and Environment, Projects, Communication and Human Resources departments, has started working on the sustainability projects for the 2024 campaign.
María del Puig Mora, Seipasa’s director of Quality and the Environment, explained that Seipasa’s new sustainability committee was created with the aim of ″approaching policies and projects from a social, environmental and economic perspective, putting people at the centre and committing to a model in which innovation and respect for the environment progress in parallel″.
″We are working on new initiatives in line with the SDGs, which can have a positive impact on their communities through the promotion and consumption of healthy food free of chemical residues. Our Natural Technology model is clearly focused on sustainability in the production of agricultural treatments and in constant balance with the natural environment, so all our lines of action will move in this direction″.
New sustainability section
Seipasa's new sustainability section includes the most important milestones of the last financial year, including the significant investment made by the company in the self-consumption photovoltaic installation to achieve the goal of zero CO2 emissions from electricity consumption, and the commitment to recycling materials and the treatment of waste.
It also reviews the results of the policies implemented to improve the welfare, work-life balance and training of its employees, as well as the measures promoted for the social evaluation of suppliers and projects for the training and education in values that are important to Seipasa.
