Cheminova adds broadleaf weed killer to roster
Date:03-10-2010
Cheminova Canada has picked up registration for a Group 2 broadleaf herbicide for use in cereals and grass crops.
Nimble, a combination of thifensulfuron-methyl and tribenuron-methyl, the same Group 2 actives found in Refine SG, has been cleared for post-emergence control of broadleaf weeds in spring and winter wheat, durum, spring barley, oats and seedling and established grass species for forage and seed production.
"This product is ideal for those growers who are looking for application flexibility, as well as effective, broad spectrum control of a variety of broadleaf weeds,"
Cheminova country manager Doug McLean said in a release.
Nimble is to be available from "select"
Cheminova dealers throughout Canada in a water-dispersible granule formulation, packaged in cases of eight 320-gram bottles.
Canola, flax, lentils and alfalfa crops can be seeded on a field at least two months after Nimble was applied, the Ontario-based arm of the Danish chemical maker said.
Cheminova stressed that the product must be applied with a recommended surfactant (Agral 90, Ag-Surf, Citowett Plus) in early postemergence to the main flush of actively growing broadleaf weeds.
