Indian experts discuss farm practices

A field day on cultivation of ‘gobhi sarson’ was organised by the Farm Advisory Service Centre here on last Wednesday wherein experts from the PAU discussed farm practices, use of chemical and health benefits of ‘gobhi sarson’ oil in cooking.
Around 150 farmers attended the event. Agriculture expert Dr Parminder Kaur said farmers should take advice of experts before going for any type of agricultural operations. Dr Paramjit Singh delivered a lecture on insect and pest management in gobhi sarson and laid emphasis on proper application technology of the pesticides.
Dr Jatinder Manan, scientist agronomy, emphasised the use of recommended dose of fertilisers as to avoid residue effect. Dr Savreet Khehra, horticulturist, advised farmers to grow fruits in the kitchen garden for nutritional security of family.
