Canadian approval for BASF's Solo on sunflowers
Date:01-09-2008
BASF has received a minor-use registration for its imidazolinone herbicide, Solo (imazamox 70%), for use on imidazolinone-tolerant Clearfield sunflowers. The move paves the way for the introduction of Clearfield sunflowers in Canada this year. Solo controls all major broadleaf weeds and grasses in sunflowers, BASF claims. The Clearfield system is also said to allow greater flexibility over following crops than other weed control options. Solo has also been approved for use on Clearfield lentils, which were introduced in 2006.
