Dow AgroSciences Announces Divestiture of Tebufenozide Business to Nippon Soda
Date:04-06-2010
Dow AgroSciences, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), announced that it has closed on the sale of its Tebufenozide insecticide business to Nippon Soda (Nisso) Co., Ltd. of Tokyo. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Tebufenozide controls a broad range of economically important lepidopterean pests infesting crops. This purchase will further strengthen Nisso’s position in these markets, and allows Dow AgroSciences to focus on other priority solutions in its ag chemical and biotechnology product portfolios.
Nisso begins selling tebufenozide insecticide and its formulations around the world as of April 1, 2010.
