Spring wheat growers will be able to use Everest herbicide for both grassy and broadleaf weed control this year by way of a new spin-off brand.
Arysta LifeScience has picked up approval for Everest GBX, which combines Everests Group 2 active ingredient flucarbazone with fluoroxypyr, a Group 4 active used in Altitude FX, Attain and other herbicides.
The new Everest product, "when combined with the growers choice of phenoxy, controls more weeds better than other single product on the market today" for wheat growers, the company said in a release Thursday.
"The advantage of Everest GBX is its ability to be customized, based on individual weed spectrum and pressure," Craig Brekkas, marketing and key account manager in Western Canada for Arysta, said in the release.
"Rates are flexible and can be changed based on your weed concerns providing a wide weed spectrum and economy at the same time."
The Everest GBX combination can also be combined with 2,4-D or MCPA for "better" one-pass control of a broad spectrum of grassy and broadleaf weeds, the company said.
