US Approves Syngenta'herbicide Axial TBC
Date:11-23-2009
BASEL, Switzerland -- The US Environmental Protection Agency approved Syngenta’s Axial TBC herbicide for grass and broadleaf weed control in winter wheat, spring wheat and barley. Individual US state registrations are still pending in some states.
Pinoxaden is the active ingredient in Axial, and the TBC product is a premix containing
florasulam.
"We’ve developed Axial TBC to give customers the flexibility to tailor their broadleaf weed control solutions to their most problematic weeds,” Syngenta Herbicide Brand Manager Shawn Potter said in a press release.
Not only can growers tailor their broadleaf solutions, they can also time weed control to best fit their farm. The wide application window enables growers to better manage workloads and resources, as well as work around weather challenges. One-pass control saves trips across the field, which equates to savings in fuel, labor and equipment wear and tear, according to Syngenta.
Because Axial TBC can be applied to both wheat and barley, growers can easily move between crops without needing to clean the tank and switch products, which means no crop injury risk from tank contamination as they move between their wheat and barley crops, according to Syngenta.
"Axial TBC is applied at a single-use rate,” Don Porter, herbicide technical brand manager for Syngenta, said in a press release. “This avoids any confusion about what rate growers need to apply. Axial TBC also has excellent crop safety on wheat and barley and provides growers with rotational crop flexibility the following growing season.”
