Australian approval for Syngenta's Boxer Gold
Date:12-14-2007
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recommended the approval of Syngenta's herbicide, Boxer Gold (prosulfocarb + S-metolachlor). It is aimed at the control of annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and toadrush (Juncus bufonius) in wheat and barley. The APVMA proposed the registration of prosulfocarb as a new active ingredient last year. It was introduced in European cereal herbicide markets by the Syngenta forerunner, ICI, in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The APVMA's registration decision is subject to a 28-day public comment period from December 4th.
