New lower price announced for Liberty herbicide in 2010
Date:09-14-2009
Canadian growers will pay significantly less for broad-spectrum weed control with Liberty herbicide in LibertyLink® corn, new LibertyLink soybeans and InVigor® canola. The price reduction to under $12/acre for Liberty will begin in time for the 2010 growing season.
As part of the LibertyLink system, Liberty delivers excellent broad-spectrum control of grassy and broadleaf weeds on LibertyLink corn (including Herculex®, Agrisure® and SmartStax™ corn hybrids with the LibertyLink trait), new LibertyLink soybeans and InVigor canola. Liberty is the only Group 10 herbicide on the market and offers a competitive herbicide resistance management tool for Group 9 (glyphosate) based production systems and the widely used Group 2 chemistries.
"With the new lower price of Liberty, growers will have effective broad-spectrum weed control and a valuable herbicide resistance management tool all in one product," says Greg Good, Portfolio Manager, Row Crops with Bayer CropScience. "And the introduction of LibertyLink soybeans makes Liberty a simple, flexible herbicide choice for growers on soybeans, corn and canola."
The lower price for Liberty is based on the suggested retail price applied at the 1.0 L/ac. rate.
Also new for the 2010 season, growers will be required to complete a Liberty and Trait Agreement (LTA) when they purchase Liberty herbicide, LibertyLink soybean seed and InVigor canola seed. More information on the LTA is available at
www.bayercropscience.ca or through local retailers.
