Beck’s is proud to announce they are a recipient of an ESRI SAG (Special Achievement in GIS) Award, presented to the Beck’s Geographic Information System (GIS) and FARMserver™ team during the ESRI User Conference plenary session in San Diego, Cali.
“We are extremely proud of our team for their work in achieving this award,” said Scott Beck, president of Beck’s. “Each day they work hard to make advancements in software and development for the benefit of farmers.”
The Beck’s team includes the GIS team, as well as those involved with Beck’s Precision Ag Tool, FARMserver. Nominated by the ESRI Agriculture team, Beck’s was recognized for their work with both the ArcGIS Platform and the development of the FARMserver software. FARMserver was recognized for its design, which was built to be an easy-to-use precision ag management tool for farmers. In maximizing utilization of ESRI’s Image Extension, FARMserver seamlessly makes the experience easy-to-use on both browser and mobile devices for even the most basic of users.
“Beck’s was recognized for their vision, leadership, hard work, and innovation in their use of ESRI’s GIS technology,” said Charlie Magruder, agriculture lead at ESRI. “This was the first time agriculture was highlighted on the plenary stage for ESRI, making this an incredible honor for the Beck’s team and the farmers they serve.”
After realizing the power of the GIS platform, Beck’s began investing in GIS throughout the core of its business. Beyond FARMserver, internal staff is using the ArcGIS platform for self-service mapping of fields and operations, collection of data for remote agronomy staff and through trials with GeoEvent extension to work with sensors such as weather stations.
