German agchem sales up by 6% in 2014

German agrochemical sales recorded a 6.2% increase to €1,600 million ($1806.4 million at the current rate) in 2014, according to the German Agriculture Industry Association, the IVA.
In terms of product category, the sales of herbicides slightly increased by 2.7% to €679 million ($766.6 million), representing around 42.4% of total sales. Sales of fungicides jumped by 10.8% to €677 million ($764.3 million),contributing to 42.3% of the total . Sales of insecticides rose by 4.2% to €150 million ($169.4 million), accounting for 9.4% of the total. The sales of other agrochemicals, including plant growth regulators(PGRs), rodenticides and molluscicides, advanced by 20.5% to €94 million($106.1 million) in 2014.
In 2014, the global agrochemical sales recorded a 4.5% (equal to €42.7 million) to $56,700 million. In terms of region, Sales in Latin American ranked first position with 28.5% of the total, followed by Asia, making up 25.9% of the total. The sales of Europe (including 28 EU member countries ) represented 24.5% of the total, and sales in NAFTA (USA, Canada and Mexico) accounted for 17.3% of the total, the other regions with 3.8% of the total.
