Punjab fire affects herbicide plant

The Economic Times of India reports that a fire at Punjab Chemicals & Crop Protection Ltd. on April 18 has affected the herbicide section of the Agro Chemicals Division, Mohali, Punjab. Although the loss to the plant and material is still being assessed, the company said the rest of the plant's agro-chemicals division remains fully operational.

There were no serious injuries, and the fire was brought under control within two hours.

 

Production in the damaged section will be affected for some time, reports Punjab Chemicals; however, it is confident that production will resume as soon as possible.

The company also reports that the factory and material are fully insured.
