China duties for Indian, Japanese pyridine imports
Date:11-21-2013
China's Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday that it will impose five-year anti-dumping tariffs on Indian and Japanese imports of pyridine, a raw material for making pesticides and herbicides.
The tariff will range from 24.6 percent to 57.4 percent and will become effective on 11 November 2013, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
The ministry said an eight-month investigation found that producers in India and Japan had been dumping pyridine into the Chinese market, which had caused "substantial damage" to Chinese industry.
In May, the ministry issued a preliminary ruling that India and Japan had been dumping the chemical into the Chinese market and slapped preliminary anti-dumping duties of up to 57.4 percent on the product.
