Argentine govt accused of blocking glyphosate entry
Date:08-12-2013
According to the report of Overseas, the entry of glyphosate to Argentina is being hindered, due to barriers imposed by the national government on Customs. These restrictions add up to the measures taken the National Health and Food Quality Service (SENASA), which is asking for arduous samples to verify the “quality” of the products, thus delaying their entry.
Furthermore, in the country there are no clear measures specifying the requirements for companies to place their crop-protection products in the market. Consequently, thousands of containers are halted in the ports.
This will lead to a shortage of crop protection product supply in the short term, and it will affect the agricultural production and its normal business development.
