Syngenta registers Flexstar premix herbicide in US
Date:12-23-2008
Syngenta Crop Protection, Inc., has announced a submission to the United States Environmental Protection Agency for a federal Section 3 registration of a new herbicide for use on soybeans.
Flexstar GT applied postemergence in glyphosate-tolerant soybeans will control more than 75 grass and broadleaf weeds, including several glyphosate- and ALS-resistant biotypes such as pigweed and ragweed.
“We are excited to soon be able to offer our customers a convenient option for controlling troublesome weeds in soybeans. This new formulation helps to sustain glyphosate-tolerant technology with improved weed control and reduced crop injury,” said Rex Wichert, herbicide brand manager with Syngenta Crop Protection.
“By offering two distinct modes of action, Flexstar GT will help control weeds that have developed or are likely to develop resistance to glyphosate and/or ALS-inhibitors.”
Syngenta Crop Protection plans to have Flexstar GT available for the 2009 selling season, pending federal and state registration.
