Soon after its market launch in Brazil, BASF’s fungicide F 500® became No. 1 among growers in that country. Products with F 500 such as Opera® help Brazilian soybean growers successfully combat a devastating disease: Asian Soybean Rust. In addition to disease control, F 500-based products bring higher growth performance and improved tolerance to diverse stress factors (for example drought). This makes crop plants such as corn and soybeans healthier and helps them to reach their yield and quality potential. Field trials have confirmed that products with F 500 bring yield increases of between 6% and 10% in corn and soybeans.
Last year, BASF introduced its new brand identity AgCelence® in Brazil for products offering growers yield and quality benefits in addition to disease and insect control. In Brazil, several BASF products for crops ranging from soybeans over sugar cane to coffee beans will now be marketed as part of the AgCelence family.
