Kumiai Chemical's fungicide, benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, has passed the first stage in the Brazilian registration process. The Ministry of Health’s national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has approved the toxicological and environmental risk dossier for the active ingredient. It has been given the go-ahead for use on tomatoes and potatoes. A 30-day comment period opened on August 6th. Assessments for the approval for the import and sale of the fungicide’s technical and formulated products will be carried out by the Ministries of the Environment and of Agriculture.
