The US EPA has determined that the herbicide, siduron, is eligible for re-registration subject to certain risk mitigation measures. The Agency called for risk reduction options as part of the re-registration process. It requires the use of respirators to reduce inhalation of wettable powders during preparation for chemigation. The EPA also demands measures to reduce ecological risks, including a limit on applications to golf courses and a ban on aerial spraying. Siduron is used to control grass weeds in turf, including golf courses and residential lawns. A public comment period ends on September 19th.
