US EPA has issued regulation to modify the levels of MRLs of the miticide/ovicide etoxazole after reviewing the petition by the registrant Valent. The regulation establishes tolerances for residues of etoxazole in or on corn, field, grain at 0.01 ppm; corn, field, forage at 0.80 ppm; corn, field, stover at 4.0 ppm; corn, field, refined oil at 0.03 ppm; corn, pop, grain at 0.01 ppm; corn, pop, stover at 4.0 ppm.
UA EPA has also modified the MRLs of the herbicide rimsulfuron, the registrant is Dupont. The residues of rimsulfuron, including its metabolites and degradates, are set in or on caneberry, subgroup 13-07A at 0.01 ppm; and bushberry, subgroup 13-07B at 0.01 ppm.
Both regulations are effective Jan 25th, 2012, and objections and requests for hearings must be received on or before March 26, 2012
The Codex has not established a MRL for etoxazole for the commodities discussed in the petition, and it has not established a MRL for rimsulfuron. The Codex Alimentarius is a joint U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization food standards program, and it is recognized as an international food safety standards-setting organization in trade agreements to which the United States is a party.
