The European Commission has confirmed that EU approval application dossiers for four new ais are complete, following clearance by its regulatory committee earlier this year. The dossiers are undergoing detailed evaluation by their rapporteur member states. The ais include: Bayer CropScience's maize herbicide, thiencarbazone, which is being evaluated by the UK; and German company S&A (Service und Anwendungstechnik)'s post-harvest treatment, phosphane, which is being assessed by Germany. The other two ais are biopesticides: Spanish company FuturEco's nematicide, Paecilomyces fumosoroseus strain Fe 9901, which is being evaluated by Belgium; and French company Agrauxine's biofungicide, Trichoderma atroviride strain I-1237, which is being assessed by France.
