Pakistan exempts pesticides from sales tax

Pakistan has decided to exempt pesticides and fertilisers from sales tax and other duties on imported and national supply, the country’s Minister of Finance, Naveed Qamar, said in his budget speech this month. The effect of exemption from duties in respect of fertilisers and pesticides will be around Rs 6,000 million ($89.6 million).
