Smithers opens new BSL-2 compliant laboratory to support increasing need for microbial pesticide testing services

Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announced that its new Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) compliant microbiology laboratory is now operational. This expanded facility enhances Smithers' biopesticide testing capabilities, offering increased capacity for analytical dose-verification and the ability to perform Analysis of Samples (5-Batch) and Storage Stability testing. 

The BSL-2 laboratory containment standards enable the safe handling and analysis of microorganisms for testing required as part of regulatory packages, including product analysis and environmental toxicology studies. With added equipment and systems designed for efficiency, this expansion also increases capacity to handle a larger volume of samples and a broader range of tests.
