The multinational agrochemical company Albaugh presented its fungicide LANFOR® PRO during this year's edition of Show Safra, held in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, which has established itself as one of the largest agribusiness fairs in Brazil.

The product is formulated with the active ingredients Azoxystrobin + Cyproconazole in Suspension Concentrate (SC). According to the manufacturer, the fungicide from the North American company is twice as concentrated as the market average in its category.

LANFOR® PRO is a systemic fungicide, used in preventive sprays, for the control of diseases in the aerial parts of cotton, irrigated rice, oats, coffee, sugarcane, barley, eucalyptus, sunflower, millet, corn, soybean, and wheat crops. Additionally, Albaugh states that the product can be applied in the planting furrow of sugarcane.

Albaugh claims that LANFOR® PRO has a broad spectrum of disease control in the crops for which it is recommended. "With smaller doses, you ensure high efficiency against Cercospora leaf spot and Phaeosphaeria leaf spot. Moreover, its modern Suspension Concentrate formulation facilitates field application, making it a practical, advantageous, and effective solution," the manufacturer said.

Another fungicide highlighted by Albaugh at Show Safra 2025 is RECONIL® RFT, which has received a new formulation and the addition of a "state-of-the-art adjuvant." "This feature further improves the product's dissolution during tank mix preparation, allowing for application without nozzle clogging. Additionally, it provides greater rainfastness, which increases the flexibility and convenience for the producer at the time of application," stated Marketing and Development Director, Nelson Azevedo.

Highlighted Insecticides

In the insecticide sector, the focus was on the solutions AFIADO®, KRYPTO®, and SULTAN®, which were recently launched and have been successfully adopted by corn and soybean farmers. According to Albaugh, AFIADO® delivers significant results in controlling soybean stink bugs and whiteflies, for example, pests considered difficult to manage.

The product, the company continues, is characterized by its more modern liquid formulation, which simplifies field operations during dosing and application. Thanks to differentiated adjuvants in the formulation, AFIADO® also has a lower toxicological classification than other market options. The insecticide acts through a shock effect and has a long residual effect, without disrupting mite populations or other natural enemies of stink bugs.

The insecticide KRYPTO® positions itself as a very attractive alternative to the active ingredient Acephate. Recently, it was the subject of a study by the consultancy Smart MIP/ESALQ, which compared it to an acephate-based treatment in terms of compatibility with biological agents for integrated pest management (IPM). KRYPTO® demonstrated the highest level of compatibility with these inputs, Albaugh emphasizes.

For Albaugh, KRYPTO® has achieved significant success in adoption due to its shock effect and broad spectrum of control over stink bugs and caterpillars in soybean and corn crops. It has also become an essential tool in controlling the 'leafhopper': "It stands out for its liquid formulation, making the dosing process more precise and convenient, as well as for its effective action on eggs and nymphs of stink bugs and caterpillars."

The most recent launch from the company, the insecticide SULTAN®, was another major attraction for Albaugh at Show Safra 2025. The new alternative, based on the active ingredient ethiprole, offers benefits such as a concentration twice that of other similar products. "The launch of SULTAN® expands options in combating soybean stink bugs and is also registered for use in cotton, rice, coffee, and sugarcane crops."

According to Azevedo, Albaugh has been growing in the market thanks to investments in portfolio expansion and the development of differentiated, high-quality formulations.

"Differentiation in formulations is an integral part of our strategy. The recent launch of SULTAN® adds to Albaugh’s well-established line of products, which offer double the concentration of active ingredients compared to others on the market. Similarly, AFIADO® stands out with its liquid formulation, which is also a feature developed for KRYPTO®," he said in conclusion.
