Orion unveiled its exclusive Orion ExtremeJet applicator nozzle during Show Rural Coopavel 2025, held in the Brazilian state of Paraná with AgroPages in attendance. Featuring pioneering technology, this nozzle line promises to revolutionize the application of biological products in planting furrows.
According to the manufacturer, the launch "increases the application efficiency of Orion equipment from 98% to 99%. This advancement enables more precise and effective delivery of live and viable microorganisms into the soil." The Orion ExtremeJet nozzle was developed through a partnership between Orion and TeeJet Technologies, following a four-year research and development (R&D) process.
Manufactured in the United States, the nozzles are made from precision-ground 303 stainless steel, ensuring that fluid passing through the nozzle travels across a completely smooth, non-porous surface. This results in "even greater preservation of applied microorganisms, ensuring they reach the soil with maximum viability and efficiency," states Orion.
The manufacturer highlights that ExtremeJet's main feature is its solid and uniform spray pattern, which completely eliminates drift losses. This characteristic enables precise application without waste, meeting the needs of farmers seeking maximum performance in bioinput use, while ensuring microorganisms are not damaged during application.
"The Orion ExtremeJet nozzle stands out for its ability to adapt spray behavior at different pressures while maintaining high uniformity and precision. The ideal pressure range, varying between 11 and 15 PSI, ensures the nozzle delivers an application without losses and guarantees that microorganisms will arrive alive and viable," states Orion's CEO and Research and Development Director, Ricardo Rodrigues da Cunha.
Another important differentiator, explains the specialist, is the variety of flow rates or calibers that the ExtremeJet line offers. This makes it possible to accommodate different planting speeds, application rates, or even row spacing. As a result, application will be performed in the ideal pressure range.
"With the launch of Orion ExtremeJet nozzles, Orion reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the constant pursuit of solutions that optimize in-soil bioinput application. We are excited to continue leading the market with products that make a difference and maximize our customers' results," states Orion's Vice President, Alexandre Santiago.
Starting February 12, 2025, Orion ExtremeJet 01 and 015 nozzles will be standard items for the company's Hunter line. Other calibers will be available from March 20, 2025, allowing customers to choose the ideal caliber for each situation.
"The launch of Orion ExtremeJet nozzles represents an important step for Orion, which continues to stand out for innovation and commitment to agricultural sustainability and efficiency. With this new technology, the company reinforces its leadership role in the in-soil bioinput application sector, delivering increasingly precise and profitable solutions for farmers, and directly contributing to the sustainable development of global agriculture," states Orion Group's Marketing and New Business Director, Rodrigo Alandia.
GLOBAL EXPANSION
With almost six decades of history, Orion has established itself as Brazil's largest manufacturer of equipment for in-soil bioinput application and is a global reference in the sector. Founded in 1967, the company has distinguished itself through product quality and innovation. Recently, Orion expanded its international operations with a new unit in Paraguay, serving the Mercosur market, and another in Leiria, Portugal, focusing on supplying the European market.
Additionally, Orion is heavily investing in its expansion with a US$10 million investment in a new factory in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. The new unit will significantly increase the company's production capacity to meet growing demand in Brazil and abroad, preparing Orion for further global expansion, with the United States as one of the next destinations for its growth.
