2024 saw first-time registration of a number of major novel pesticide technical granted to Chinese companies

To tackle either a homogenous industry competition or the increasingly prominent issue of resistance, the pesticide market is urgently calling for emergence of more innovative active ingredients. On the one hand, more and more compounds of Chinese originality are entering the international market. On the other hand, more and more foreign innovative compounds are opened up for localization in China.

In 2024 just alone, up to date, a number of novel compounds of Chinese companies were granted registration for the first time, such as cyantraniliprole, spinetoram, fluopyram, penflufen, fluoxastrobin and cyenopyrafen.

Insecticide

1. Cyantraniliprole TC

On January 24, 2024, Hebei Xingbai Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd was granted registration of cyantraniliprole 90% TC, having become the only Chinese registrant besides FMC.

2. Spinetoram TK

On January 16, 2025, Qilu Pharmaceutical (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd was granted registration of spinetoram 81.2% TC and SC, having become the only Chinese registrant besides Corteva.

Fungicide

1. Fluopyram TC

On July 11, 2024, registration of fluopyram 96% TC was granted to Inner Mongolia Laike Crop Protection Co., Ltd. Soon afterwards, Shandong Binnong Technology Co., Ltd, Hebei Xingbai Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd were also respectively granted first time registration of fluopyram TC.

2. Penflufen TC 

On August 23, 2024, Inner Mongolia Zhonggao Chemical Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Zhongshan Chemical Group, was granted registration of penflufen TC, which is the only registration in China besides Bayer.

3. Fluoxastrobin TC

On April 28, 2024, Jiangsu Good Harvest Agrochemical Co., Ltd was granted registration of fluoxastrobin TC.

Acaricide

Cyenopyrafen TC

On January 16, 2025, Shandong New Power Biotechnology Co., Ltd was granted  registration of cyenopyrafen 95% TC, which is a breakthrough into Nissan Chemical’s exclusive registration in China.
