On February 13, Hubei Trisun Chemical Co. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Xingfa Group, became the first Chinese company to successfully pass the international standard review for glyphosate technical (FAO Specification 284/TC) by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and have it officially released.
The FAO standard, recognized globally as the authoritative certification for pesticide quality, has long been dominated by multinational corporations. This achievement by Xingfa Group not only brings to an end the previous dominance by multinational corporations, but also lays a technical foundation for China's participation in setting global pesticide standards. The company's innovative detection methods, adopted for the first time in the application process, have been accepted by the FAO as an international standard. This milestone enhances the brand image of Xingfa's glyphosate products and provides a "passport" for entering the UN procurement list and markets in many developing countries. It also serves as a powerful endorsement for obtaining registration certificates in various countries.
The FAO/WHO pesticide quality standards are internationally recognized for identifying and arbitrating quality disputes in pesticide trade, helping to prevent the circulation of substandard products. Trisun in collaboration with research institutions has overcome key technical challenges such as impurity control and environmentally friendly formulations, establishing a pool of Chinese standard technologies. This success signifies that Xingfa Group has reached an internationally leading level in glyphosate product quality, technological innovation, and management systems, setting a new benchmark for the industry.
During the standard application process, Trisun enhanced its full-process management capabilities, from raw material tracing to process technology upgrades and quality control. Through technological improvements, the company achieved a 95% wastewater reuse rate and an 18% reduction in energy consumption per unit of product. This sets a strong example for the industry's transition to green manufacturing.
Trisun has integrated FAO and other international standards into its strategic planning, establishing a comprehensive standardization system covering research, production, and services. These measures are expected to further enhance Xingfa Group's global competitiveness and market influence, serving as a model for the international development of China's pesticide industry.
