Brazilian biological inputs company Bioworld has announced several moves indicating the expansion of its business in the country.
According to BioWorld's newly announced CEO, agronomist engineer Ithamar Prada, who left ICL to lead its new project, a total of BRL40 million has already been invested.
According to Prada, the company is expected to receive an additional BRL60 million over the next two years. The new CEO also projected that BioWorld will achieve revenue of BRL90 million this year, driven by the company's consolidation in the high-technology producers market.
"This growth will be leveraged by a set of actions, including strategic partnerships, product line expansion, research investments, and geographical expansion. Additionally, increased awareness of sustainable agricultural practices and the search for greater productive efficiency create a favorable environment for our solutions portfolio," the executive stated.
Ithamar Prada says the company is expanding beyond fruit cultivation into other crops such as coffee, grains, vegetables, and sugarcane. "This diversification is strategic, as it allows us to serve segments with high demand for innovative technologies while leveraging our technical knowledge to deliver value to producers. Our operations are expanding in key regions of Brazil, focusing on states with the highest agricultural potential and adoption of cutting-edge technology," he revealed.
The BioWorld Group consists of four integrated companies. The first is BioMulti, which specializes in "On-Farm" microorganism production and provides inputs and equipment for this type of production. The second is BioFarm, focusing on the production of adjuvants, inoculants, and culture media.
The third company in the BioWorld Group is BioLab, dedicated to product development, research, and advanced laboratory analysis. The fourth is BioEnsino, which specializes in providing knowledge and specialized training in biological inputs to industry professionals.
NEW CEO
Ithamar Prada graduated from Esalq/USP (Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, a unit of the University of São Paulo) and holds a master's degree in Agronomy from UFU (Federal University of Uberlândia). At ICL, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Innovation, and at BioWorld, he will be responsible for expanding BioWorld's business in the current model while incorporating other businesses that complement the farmer's offering.
"Together with an excellent team composed of highly qualified professionals, I have the unique opportunity to contribute to the constant evolution of Brazilian agribusiness, which is increasingly sustainable and productive. I was very impressed with the company's technological level, portfolio, and results obtained with clients from different crops. I am very excited to join the BioWorld team," he declared.
