A few days ago, China’s Cangzhou Hualong Biotechnology Co., Ltd, publicized the EIA pertaining to an annual 1,200-ton Tembotrion project on a relevant website. Cangzhou Hualong Biotechnology Co., Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hebei Zhongtian Bangzheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
According to the publication, Cangzhou Hualong Biotechnology Co., Ltd plans to build an annual 1,200-ton Tembotrione production line within the company’s No.3 Workshop, Gangcheng District, Bohai New District, Cangzhou City.
Tembotrione is a triketone HPPD inhibiting herbicide developed by Bayer, which is of broad herbicidal spectrum, strong systemicity and high safety, being used in corn field to control grassy weeds such as crab grass and green foxtail as well as broad-leaved weeds such as amaranth, goosefoot and mustard. Meanwhile, it is applicable to non-crop fields like sunflower and sugarcane fields.
Tembotrione, a rising star among HPPD inhibiting herbicides, has developed rapidly in recent years, having become a hot product on the corn herbicide market due to its high activity, low residue, mammalian safety and environmental friendliness. According to China’s pesticide information network, up to date, a total of 36 Tembotrione product registrations have been granted in China, including 12 TC products, 23 single agents and 1 mixture.
